Temperaturbereich von - 40°C bis +100°C;
- les fluides hydrauliques synthétiques à base de pétrole selon une plage de température de -40 °C à +100 °C;

Overview
oSIST prEN 855:2012 is a European draft standard developed by the Slovenian Institute for Standardization (SIST) that specifies requirements for textile reinforced thermoplastics hydraulic hoses and hose assemblies. This standard covers two types of hoses, designed for operating with petroleum-based, synthetic-based, and water-based hydraulic fluids across a range of demanding temperatures. With maximum working pressures from 69 bar up to 345 bar, these hoses are vital components in hydraulic systems where flexibility, durability, and consistent performance are required.
The standard focuses on hose and hose assembly performance, excluding the requirements for end fittings. It includes guidance on construction, testing methods, performance criteria, and marking, ensuring compatibility, safety, and interchangeability across various industrial applications.
Key Topics
Scope and Classification
- Two types of thermoplastics hoses: Type R7 and Type R8, differentiated by maximum working pressures
- Operating temperate ranges:
- Petroleum and synthetic hydraulic fluids: -40°C to +100°C
- Water-based hydraulic fluids: 0°C to +70°C
Hose Construction
- Seamless thermoplastics lining resistant to hydraulic fluids
- Synthetic fibre reinforcement for enhanced strength
- Thermoplastics outer cover with resistance to hydraulic fluids and environmental factors
Performance Requirements
- Hydrostatic (working, proof, and burst) pressure in accordance with EN ISO 1402
- Impulse testing for durability at specified impulse pressures
- Minimum bend radius for flexibility requirements
- Cold flexibility and fluid resistance evaluation
Quality and Safety Assurance
- Ozone resistance to prevent degradation in harsh conditions
- Electrical conductivity limits for operational safety
- Clear marking and identification for traceability
Applications
Plastics hoses and hose assemblies covered by oSIST prEN 855:2012 are widely used in hydraulic systems where flexibility, chemical resistance, and reliable pressure tolerance are essential. Typical application sectors include:
