Vesoljska tehnika - Sprejem obvestila CCSDS 232.1-B-2, postopek delovanja komunikacij-1

–   v standardu višje ravni ECSS-E-ST-50 (Komunikacije), ki določa glavne značilnosti komunikacijskih protokolov in z njimi povezanih storitev za vse ravni komunikacije, pomembne za vesoljsko komunikacijo (od fizične do aplikacijske ravni), in njihove osnovne medsebojne povezave;
Uporabniki obstoječega standarda so vabljeni k ogledu teh dokumentov, preden sprejmejo odločitve o izvajanju trenutnega standarda.
Ta standard se lahko prilagodi posameznim lastnostim in omejitvam vesoljskega projekta v skladu s standardom ECSS-S-ST-00.

Overview

SIST EN 16603-50-26:2022 is a European standard published by the Slovenian Institute for Standardization (SIST), specifying the formal adoption of the CCSDS 232.1-B-2, Communications Operation Procedure-1 (COP-1), for application in European space projects under the ECSS framework. This document clearly identifies the clauses and requirements that have been modified in comparison to the original CCSDS standard to ensure consistency and effective integration with ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) system standards.

Replacing aspects of the previously used EN 16603-50-04:2014, this adoption notice ensures that the Telecommand (TC) protocol, specifically the COP-1 information transfer procedures, remain harmonized across European space missions. The standard directly addresses ground-to-space data link requirements essential for the reliability and interoperability of modern space operations.

Key Topics

  • Adoption of CCSDS 232.1-B-2: The standard applies CCSDS 232.1-B-2:2010 with a minimal set of modifications, ensuring European space systems benefit from globally recognized data communications procedures.
  • Key Modifications: Clause 4 details the required modifications to clauses within the CCSDS original, such as how buffer management, data delivery, and signal notifications are handled during frame acceptance and reporting.
  • Intended Scope: Focuses on protocols for transferring Telecommand space data reliably and without duplication or loss, using the data link layer.
  • Harmonization within ECSS: This document facilitates consistent reference and application of COP-1, contributing to the broader harmonization of space engineering standards across Europe.
  • Transition from Past Standards: EN 16603-50-26:2022 supersedes certain sections of EN 16603-50-04:2014 alongside EN 16603-50-24 and EN 16603-50-25, representing an optimized restructuring.

Applications

The primary application of SIST EN 16603-50-26:2022 is within spacecraft and ground segment engineering where Telecommand (TC) space data links are crucial:

  • Spacecraft Operations: Ensures reliable command data delivery from ground stations to spacecraft, avoiding gaps and duplication, which is critical for mission success.
  • System Engineering Compliance: Enables national and European agencies, satellite manufacturers, and system integrators to engineer compliant communication subsystems based on established international best practices.
  • Interoperability: Promotes compatibility for multinational or multi-agency missions utilizing common Telecommand protocols, reducing integration complexities.
  • Reference for Procurement: Used as a reference during the specification and procurement phases for satellite and ground equipment, ensuring products meet up-to-date standards.

Related Standards

For holistic space data link protocol implementation and compliance, the following related standards should be considered alongside SIST EN 16603-50-26:2022:

  • EN 16603-50-24: Adoption Notice of CCSDS 231.0-B-3, TC Synchronization and Channel Coding
  • EN 16603-50-25: Adoption Notice of CCSDS 232.0-B-3, TC Space Data Link Protocol
  • EN 16603-50-21: Adoption Notice of CCSDS 131.0-B-3, TM Synchronization and Channel Coding
  • EN 16603-50-22: Adoption Notice of CCSDS 132.0-B-2, TM Space Data Link Protocol
  • EN 16603-50-23: Adoption Notice of CCSDS 732.0-B-3, AOS Space Data Link Protocol
  • ECSS-E-ST-50-04C: Superseded standard for telecommand protocols
  • CCSDS 232.1-B-2: Original international standard on which the adoption notice is based

By referencing SIST EN 16603-50-26:2022 and associated standards, space projects operating in or collaborating with European agencies can ensure robust, harmonized, and future-ready communications systems, essential for the needs of modern space missions.

Context information
The standard CCSDS 232.1-B-2, Communications Operation Procedure-1, Issue 2,
has been developed by CCSDS in support of CCSDS 231.0-B adopted by ECSS
with EN 16603-50-26 (ECSS-E-AS-50-26).
In the standard CCSDS 232.0-B-3, TC Space Data Link Protocol, CCSDS specifies a
data link layer protocol for the efficient transfer of space application data of
various types and characteristics over ground-to-space links. The
Communications Operation Procedure-1 (COP-1) specified in CCSDS 232.1-B-2
is used with the TC Space Data Link Protocol: it provides a mechanism for
delivery of frames in sequence and without gaps or duplication.
This Adoption Notice adopts and applies CCSDS 232.1-B-2 with a minimum set
of modifications, identified in the present document, to allow for reference and
for a consistent integration in the ECSS system of standard
