IEC 61753-084-02:2025 contains the minimum initial performance, test and measurement requirements and severities which a fibre optic pigtailed 980/1 550 nm wide wavelength division multiplexing (WWDM) device will satisfy in order to be categorized as meeting the requirements of category C (indoor controlled environment), as defined in IEC 61753-1:2018, Annex A. WWDM is defined in IEC 62074-1. The requirements cover devices with single-mode non‑connectorised pigtails. This device has three ports; 980 nm port, 1 550 nm port and common port for output or combining 980 nm and 1 550 nm. This first edition cancels and replaces the first edition of IEC 61753-084-2 published in 2007. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) Change of test conditions harmonizing with IEC 61753-1: 2018.

IEC 61753-084-02:2025 contient les exigences minimales initiales de performance, d’essai et de mesure, ainsi que les sévérités auxquelles un dispositif fibronique de multiplexage par répartition en longueur d’onde large (WWDM, Wide Wavelength Division Multiplexing) 980/1 550 nm équipé de fibres amorces satisfait pour être classé conforme aux exigences de la catégorie C (environnement intérieur contrôlé), selon la définition donnée à l’Annexe A de l’IEC 61753-1:2018. Le WWDM est défini dans l’IEC 62074-1. Ces exigences couvrent les dispositifs à fibres amorces unimodales, non connectorisés. Ce type de dispositif possède trois ports; un port 980 nm, un port 1 550 nm et un port commun de sortie ou combinant 980 nm et 1 550 nm. Cette première édition annule et remplace la première édition de l'IEC 61753-084-2 parue en 2007. Cette édition constitue une révision technique. Cette édition inclut les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l'édition précédente: a) Modification des conditions d'essai pour harmonisation avec l’IEC 61753-1:2018.

3 1) The IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
4 all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of the IEC is to promote
5 international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To
6 this end and in addition to other activities, the IEC publishes International Standards. Their preparation is

53 This part of IEC 61753 contains the minimum initial performance, test and measurement
54 requirements and severities which a fibre optic pigtailed 980 / 1 550 nm wide wavelength
